KINDERGARTEN
Since 2010, Poveda runs an English kindergarten with a keen desire to set kids on the right trajectory at the very start of their education path and help them leverage the RTE to get admissions in English medium schools.
CLASSES IN SPOKEN ENGLISH
In the past Poveda offered classes in English to children from an orphanage and various villages. Since June 2022, we work with Zilla Parishad Schools bringing English to them as a language and not a subject.
TUITION
The pandemic left an ever increasing gap in the academic progress of children from low income communities. To help bridge this gap and bring kids to par, Poveda has run after school classes since 2021.
TEACHER DEVELOPMENT
A teacher well formed is an agent of change in the lives of thousands of kids who will pass through her/his class all through their years of service. This is the belief that compels Poveda to work with teachers both on their professional and personal development.
STUDENT FORMATION
We often look at school students as recipients of coaching, when in fact they are drivers of change, both within and in society. Poveda engages in opportunities to bring out the leader in each child.
COMPUTER CLASS
Equal opportunity to learning and mastering computer skills, helps our children explore a world of knowledge and careers that would otherwise be beyond their reach. Computers at Poveda, over the years, has been completely driven by volunteers.
SPORTS
Poveda offers sports classes to children from low income communities – boys from an orphanage in the past and kids from the Zilla Parishad school this year.
POVEDA MEALS
Can you imagine our world or our country or even our city, where no one goes hungry? We may not be able to bring a meal to every one yet, but we do our part by serving hot meals on Sundays to people out on the streets.
RELIEF PROGRAM
Since COVID in 2020, Poveda has committed to distributing grocery hampers once a year to communities on the periphery of society. In addition to this, we have also distributed blankets, jackets and slippers to different groups in want.
